9/5/2023 0 Comments Dmi tool hpIn this section, the System IDs section or CTRL+A, you will have a bunch of entries, where different values can be entered. If you cannot highlight anything, then you are not in the advanced BIOS and must try to enter it again. If you can highlight things but not press enter and edit them, then you are out of luck as you need a BIOS_UPDATE utility to reeset the DMI information, this is also not given out except to HP Certified techs. If, by chance, you are able to highlight and edit the values you are extremely lucky because you do not need any of the disks. You just need to fill out the information on this screen with two small notes that should be known. The model it asks for is actually the Product Number of the unit. The featurebyte is case sensitive, do not use spaces and definitely include the. If you get an error that the featurebyte was not accepted, something is not entered correctly, try it again (this is always the case, it is always entered incorrectly when that error appears.) The Build ID should not include the "**" but should include the #SABA#DABA. If you are using a laptop, you are out of luck as special files on a bootable USB are needed, I am not very familiar with this process, but only HP Certified techs are given the files. If you are using a commercial desktop or all-in-one, then you can just go into the system IDs and edit them in the BIOS, it's super easy and you shouldn't need any disks. Hope this clears up somethings, HP is the devil.
